This item consists of 4 Vintage Gridley Butter Kids Advertising Cards, which were printed in the 1920's by the Knapp Co. of N.Y. The Gridley Dairy Company of Wisconsin offered a card with each pound of butter, as well as a Butterkid Album of rhymes and poems in which to collect the cards. These four cards are: "810-1-Dunking for Apples" (a Halloween illustration with jack-o'- lantern and black cats); "892- Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms (children making a Valentine's card with a baby playing in spilled ink); "896- Oh! Dry Those Tears" (a boy crying because he has dropped his slice of bread, which is being sniffed by a pig); and "No. 22 Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater (a boy and girl in a pumpkin patch with the girl tucked inside a large pumpkin). Each card measures 5" high by 3.5" wide and has clear, colorful illustrations which have been printed on thin paper. Each back has a unique advertising text. These 4 Vintage Gridley Butter Kids Advertising Cards are in very good condition, particularly given the age. The Dunking for Apples card has a crease in the lower right hand corner and is missing some text on back where it was once glued into an album.
