Vintage Wood Letterpress Capital D

This Vintage Wood Letterpress Capital D has simple design with 0.5" wide stems and a serif at both the top and the bottom of the letter.  The font is unknown, but it appears to be similar to News Serif Font.  Each stem has been notched with 14 raindrop shaped marks in two lines.  The printing block measures 3.25" high by 1.875" wide by 0.875" deep (with the letter raised 0.125" above the block).  The wood is dark brown with a distinct grain, which has become almost black with repeated use.  Maker and exact age are unknown.  This Vintage Wood Letterpress Capital D is in Very Good condition with surface imperfections due to age and use.  Ideal as decoration or for use in art projects.
