This is a Vintage Japanese Geisha Doll in a Glass Box.  Standing 3.5" tall and dressed in a traditional colorful fabric kimono and a silver paper hat, this geisha dances to the beat of a drum she is holding in her left hand.  Her head is tilted to the left and her right arm is raised and bent towards her head, giving her a sense of movement.  She has the traditional white face with painted red lips, almond-shaped black eyes and slender black brows.  Her black hair is in a simple straight shoulder length style with bangs.  She is housed in 4.25" (h) by 3.875" (w) by 2.125" (d) glass box with a decorative wood base painted red.  The back wall is made of textured glass  The edges of the glass are edged in silver paper.  The doll stands on a floor with a decorative green, white and tan striped border.  The piece is unmarked but was probably made in Japan in the 1960s.  This Vintage Japanese Geisha Doll in a Glass Box is in Very Good Condition with only a small piece of silver paper missing from the edge of the back right corner.
