This is a 19th century Tintype of a Young Man with a Watch Chain. The photograph shows a three quarter length portrait of a young man seated in front of a painted landscape backdrop. He stares into the distance, unsmiling. He has one hand in his lap, holding his pocket watch, and the other hand resting against the edge of the chair arm. He has a simple haircut with a part and wave. He wears a suit buttoned at the top and a cravat with a stud. His cheeks have been hand tinted bright pink. The photograph measures about 3.5" by 2.5" and has been sepia-toned. This Tintype of a Young Man with a Watch Chain is in good condition. There are some minor surface scratches in the emulsion. The back is clean.
