This is a 19th century Tintype of a Woman in a Plaid Dress. This 2" by 1.5" portrait shows the head and shoulders of a young woman with elaborately curled hair and hair comb, a velvet choker with a small pin, dangle earrings, and a lace trimmed white collar with a large pin on a plaid dress. She stares straight at the camera without smiling. Her cheeks have been faintly hand tinted pink. The sepia-toned photograph has been cut into an octagonal shape and sealed into a simple embossed off-white mat, measuring about 3.75" by 2.5". Both this Tintype of a Woman in a Plaid Dress and the mat are in very good condition.
