This is a 19th century Tintype of Two Seated Men in Hats. This 4" by 2.5" full length portrait shows two seated men wearing hats and touching arms at the center of the photograph. Each man is dressed in a three-piece suit with fancy neckwear. The man at left looks into the distance, while the man at right stares into the camera. Their cheeks have been hand tinted pink. This is the type of portrait described in the book Dear Friends: American Portraits of Men Together. The tintype is in a pale orange and red detailed mat with pale purple paper backing. This Tintype of Two Seated Men in Hats is in good condition. However, the emulsion seems to be dirty.
