This is a 19th century Tintype of a Man with Crossed Leg. The 4.75" x 3.25" photograph shows a full length studio view of a seated young man with his left leg crossed at the right knee. He is dressed in a simple jacket, a plaid bow tie, a hat with a round crown, and boots. He stares directly at the camera, unsmiling. The backdrop and floor have no embellishments. Even the chair he sits in has a basic design. The mat is pale orange with deeper orange border designs and a center oval cutout. This Tintype of a Man with Crossed Leg is in better than fair condition. It is either overexposed or has faded over time. There are some cracks in the emulsion at bottom. Ideal for art projects.
