This is the hardcover catalog, Sislej Xhafa, produced in conjunction with the exhibition in the Albanian pavilion at the 2005 Venice Biennale, edited by Marla Hurov and Adrienne Drake, and published by Hatje Cantz.  Xhafa creates subversive "actions," which are conceptual strategies that challenge cultural stereotypes, preconceived prejudices and institutional structures such as consumerism.  These actions often cast a new light on the way Europeans see themselves.  Born in Kosovo, Xhafa also makes use of common prejudices about his fellow countrymen, presenting himself as a clever pickpocket or as a young member of the Mafia, smartly clad in black, with sunglasses and a leather jacket.  This 112 page catalog includes 75 illustrations; a foreword by Cecilia Tirelli and Andi Tepelena; and essays by Luk Lamprecht, Shkelzen Maliqi, Guido Molinari, Edi Muka, and Giancinto di Pietrantonio.  Text is in English, Italian and Albanian.  This copy of Sislej Xhafa is in Like New condition.  (ISBN  978-3-7757-1685-7)
