This Silver Toned Metal Dotted Elephant Pendant has a joyful presence with the raised trunk, gentle walk, and decorative pattern of raised lines and dots which cover the body and form a blanket or saddle on the back. Other details include a thick tusk, flattened areas below the feet, and a nub of a tail. The elephant measures 2.5" (64mm) wide by 1.75" (44mm) wide with a 0.25" (6mm) attached round silver-toned ring. A 0.5" (13mm) decorative oval ring (with an attached round ring) allows the pendant to lie flat against the chest and to have movement. The back of the pendant has a hollow back with a flat border. The piece is unmarked. Maker and age are unknown. The body type of the elephant and the decorative embellishments suggest that this pendant was made in Asia, probably India.
