This item consists of two Hexagonal Horn Beads with Inlaid Brass Dot Pattern. The variegated water buffalo horn in shades of deep amber to deep brown( with natural variations) has been hand carved into hexagons (with longer sides and shorter ends). Being handcrafted, they vary in size: the bead at left measures 1.3125" (33mm) high by 1.25" (32mm) wide by 0.25" (6mm) thick and the bead at right measures 1.25" (32mm) high by 1.3125" (33mm) wide by 0.1875" (5mm) thick. The slightly arched front surfaces have been inlaid with double rows of brass dots arranged in a center zigzag and in horizontal lines with three and four vertical lines at the ends. Between each zigzag is a brass ring with center dot (seven in total). Each has a 0.125" (3mm) hole which runs vertically. The backs are flat. It is believed that these beads were made in the Philippines. Age is unknown. These Hexagonal Horn Beads with Inlaid Brass Dot Pattern are in Very Good condition. However, they bead on the left has a natural crack on the back which does not affect the integrity of the bead.
