This is an 8" x 12" Folk Art Drawing 1 by Maria Jeronima Dionicia (or Dionisia, as she appears to have signed her work both ways) in reddish brown ink on handmade variegated tan paper with uneven edges. The illustration shows three women, a man and two fierce wolf-like animals (with long tails and bared teeth) in front of four huts and surrounded by plants and flowers. At the center, one of the women is pouring what appears to be seeds or water(?), which the man below her is catching in a long bag. Both humans and animals have almond-shaped eyes with lids and dotted lashes. The imagery has some symmetry and is densely packed inside a multi-layered frame of scallops, waves and straight lines. The drawing is signed in black with dots between her names and a coma at the end. No information has been found on this artist. Age of the drawing is unknown. This Folk Art Drawing 1 by Maria Jeronima Dionicia is in excellent condition with no signs of damage or wear.
