This is an Early Twentieth Century Cap Gun Hammer with an etched flower, leaf and swirl design. The piece measures 4.125" long by 1.75" high by 0.75" wide (with two tubes for insertion in the body of the gun). The hammer has a beautiful, flowing curvilinear design with a striated pad and a hammer/hand and spring assembly, which still works. The piece appears to be made of iron, which has lightly rusted over time creating a wonderful patina. Maker, model and exact age are unknown. This Early Twentieth Century Cap Gun Hammer is in good condition. Ideal for use in an art project.
