This is a 19th century Carte de Visite of a Communion Girl. The sepia-toned photograph shows a young girl in her Communion outfit with a tiered white dress, white veil, and flowered headdress. She is holding what appears to be a photograph in her left hand, which leans against a decorative chair with a needlepoint back. She is facing away from the camera in a three-quarter view. Her gaze is intense. It is possible that she is dead, as one can see a stand used for these type of photographs behind her high button shoes. The back of the card is printed: "W.R. Babcock's Fine Art Gallery, 235 Summit Street, Toledo, O." This 19th Century Carte de Visite of a Communion Girl is in very good condition with a slightly dirty border.
