Art Deco Black Carnival Glass Butterfly Hat Pin Topper

This is an Art Deco Black Carnival Glass Butterfly Hat Pin Topper, measuring 1.375" (35mm) high by 1.8125" (46mm) wide by 0.3125" (8mm) thick on a slightly curved surface.  The butterfly is a highly stylized design, both symmetrical and geometric, typical of patterns seen during the Art Deco period. The textured surface (both elevated and recessed) has been molded in an iridescent black glass with highlights and shadows in blue, purple, and gold.  The back has a raised cast glass area with a hole which would have held the hat pin.  Maker is unknown.  Ten butterflies are available for purchase separately.  This Art Deco Black Carnival Glass Butterfly Hat Pin Topper is in Very Good condition with no damage or wear.  Ideal for re-purposing.
