This is the 1995 paperback edition of An Anecdoted Topography of Chance, written by Daniel Spoerri and published by Atlas as Arkhive Four in its Documents of the Avant-Garde series. (ISBN: 0 947757 88 0)  The book is a unique collaborative work by four artists associated with the Fluxus and Nouveau Réalism movements.  Following a rambling conversation with his friend Robert Filliou, Daniel Spoerri one day mapped the objects lying at random on the table in his room, adding a rigorously scientific description of each.  These objects subsequently evoked associations, memories and anecdotes from both the author and his friends --Filliou, Emmett Williams, Dieter Roth and Roland Topor.  There are also texts by principal participants of Fluxus (Higgins, Jouffroy, Kaprow, Restany and Tinguely).  Seen as a game, a poem, an encyclopedia, a cabinet of wonders and a celenbration of friendship and creativity, this book is considered one of the most important and entertaining artists' books of the postwar period. It measures 9" high by 8.25" wide by 0.75" thick.  Text is in English.  This copy of An Anecdoted Topography of Chance is In Good condition.  The body of the book is clean and appears to be unread, but the covers have shelf wear and creases.  The book includes a fold-out map of the objects on the table.
