This is a 19th century New Year's Album Card with a Girl in Foreign Dress. The lithographed card, measuring 7.375" high by 2.75" wide, shows a young girl standing beneath three lanky trees on a country path. She is wearing foreign clothing, including a white blouse with billowy sleeves and a high ruffled collar; yellow skirt with hem trim; white apron; red vest; yellow and white bonnet; red slip-on shoes with blue socks; and a black draw string bag with a long cord. She has dark hair and a sweet smile on her red bowed lips, as she stares off to the side. She is carrying an empty wood bowl with a handle. The front reads "May yours be a Happy New Year" and the back has a rhyming poem with hopes for the new year. Maker of the card and country of origin of the clothing are unknown. This 19th century New Year's Album Card with a Girl in Foreign Dress is in Very Good condition. The front has no wear or damage. The back has some minor staining.
