This 1869 Chromolithograph Print of Frankish Ladies of the Ninth Century (St. Jerome reading to Eustachia and Paula.) is from Thomas Wright's Womankind in Western Europe (from the earliest times to the seventeenth century), published by Groombridge and Sons, London. The print, measuring about 6.25" high by 8.25" wide, shows the haloed saint with raised hand sitting at right before four robed women. Two of the women have books, one a scroll, and one a scroll and stylus. The medieval style print is in shades of pastel pink, blue, yellow and orange with a pale blue, yellow and orange line border. "Frankish Ladies of the Ninth Century." is written in thin black block letters, while "(St. Jerome reading to Eustachia and Paula.)" is written in thin black upper and lower case letters on an outer cream-colored border. This 1869 Chromolithograph Print of Frankish Ladies of the Ninth Century is in very good condition with no damage, wear or fading to the illustration. The edges of the outer border have slightly darkened.
