This is a bone china Wedgwood Kutani Crane Miniature Tankard, made in England in the late 1970's in what is now a discontinued pattern. One each side, the tankard shows a blue and yellow crane with red head feathers, standing on a branch with its head turned over its back and its right leg lifted. The bird is surrounded by lush vegetation, including two vermilion and pink flowers (peonies? which bring good fortune), and blue-lavender rocks. A pattern of flowers, leaves, and abstract designs (a green cross inside a diamond) encircle the top edge. There is a gold ring around the top edge and indented bottom, as well as a gold streak down the handle. This miniature tankard measures 1.5" (38mm) high by 1.75" (44mm) wide (including the handle). The bottom is marked with a black and white double-handled vase and the words "WEDGWOOD (R)," "Bone China" and "Made in England." It comes in its original box. This Wedgwood Kutani Crane Miniature Tankard is in mint condition with no damage or wear. The box has two surface areas missing where the lid was taped.
