This is a 19th century Tintype of a Woman with a Striped Shawl. This 3.25" by 2" sepia-toned shows a seated young woman wearing an elaborate flowered hat, a bow and jewelry at her neck, and a striped and fringed shawl across her shoulders. She stares away from the camera, unsmiling. Her cheeks have been hand tinted pink and her jewelry has been painted gold. The tin has two clipped corners. This Tintype of a Woman with Striped Shawl has slight imperfections in the emulsion but the tin is undamaged.
