This is a Thai Ramayana Card Deck, produced by ISRC Printing House in Phnom Penh. This deck has the traditional four suits (hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs) with ten cards in each, which have Western and Thai numbers. The jacks, queens and kings [with French designations of V (valet), D (Dame) and R (Roi)] have been replaced with characters from the Ramayana, the national epic of Thailand. These are: Hanuman; Neang Séta; Rama (hearts); Sugrib; Koskolian; Laks (spades); Bali; Kaikesey; Piruth (diamonds); and Angud; Teavrékha; and Suttrut (clubs). The characters are beautifully detailed and richly colored. The backs of the cards have an intricate mirror image red and white design with Thai figures at the center. Cards come in their original box. Age of the deck is unknown. This Thai Ramayana Card Deck is in very good condition with no damage or wear. However, both jokers are missing. Box has slight wear. Ideal for use in an art project.
