This Small Casas Grandes Pot Signed Avelina Corona was made by wife and husband, Avelina Corona de Amaya and Angel Amaya Mora, who often work together in Mata Ortiz. Avelina usually forms the pots into non-traditional shapes and cuts the openings, while Angel decorates them with his interpretations of Paquime designs. Avelina signs Angel's name on the larger pots and adds her name to the smaller ones. This pot has been made out of deep red clay with off-white painted decorations and a glossy surface. A geometric opening, like a four-vaned pinwheel in motion, has been cut into the top and accentuated with a dotted sgraffito border. The rounded top of the pot measures 2" in diameter and tapers down for one inch into a 0.75" flat base. This Small Casas Grandes Pot Signed Avelina Corona is in Like New condition.
