Painted Polymer Clay Sacred Heart

This Painted Polymer Clay Sacred Heart, measuring 2.4375" high by 2" wide by 0.375" thick, was cast in a mold and hand painted.  It is one of the traditional images of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a symbol of God's boundless and passionate love of mankind.  It is characterized by a brown crown of thorns (which alludes to Christ's passion) around the body of a stylized, vase-shaped red heart from whose neck issues a brown incised cross and dramatic red,yellow and orange flames (a representation of ardent love).  Blue and lavender rays of divine light radiate from the heart to fill the background.  Back is flat.  Maker is unknown.  This Painted Polymer Clay Sacred Heart is in Very Good condition.  Ideal for use in assemblage or repurposed as a pin.
