This Carved Boxwood Ojime Bead of a Pig was inspired by an antique Japanese sliding bead, which was worn on the cord of an inro box suspended from a waist sash. This bead was hand carved by a contemporary Chinese Master-Carver. The bead shows a pig with an open mouth climbing on top of what appears to be a filled sack with a decorative diamond closure. The pig stands 2" high by 1.5" wide by .75" deep. The two holes for the cord are on his back end and upper right thigh. The carver has signed his name on the underside of the sack. The translation of this name is unknown. This Carved Boxwood Ojime Bead of a Pig is in Like New condition, having never been used.
