This Carved Boxwood Ojime Bead of a Frog was inspired by an antique Japanese sliding bead, which was worn on the cord of an inro box suspended from a waist sash. This bead was hand carved by a contemporary Chinese Master-Carver. The bead shows an intensely staring frog holding on to the front of his vest and wearing a sumo wrestler cloth with intricate ties on back. The frog stands 2" high by 1.25" wide by .75" deep. The hole for the cord is in the center of the base beneath him. The carver has signed his name on the underside of the base. The translation of this name is unknown. This Carved Boxwood Ojime Bead of a Frog is in Like New condition, having never been used.
