These seven illustrations were taken from the 1908 edition of Little Karl, written by Uncle Milton and illustrated by Bernhardt Wall (American artist, pioneer etcher, and historian). The print of Little Karl (the frontispiece) shows him with his sheep and dog standing before a vast Dutch landscape (including windmill). The six portraits of his parents and his siblings shows them in front of a dark undefined background. Each is carrying an object (pitcher, vegetable basket, or gun with a handing dead bird) which symbolizes their work role in the family. Each image measures 7" high by 4.75" wide. The white borders have been trimmed to varying dimensions. The colors of each print are deep and bright. In very good condition.
