These seven color prints of famous soldiers and battles of the American Civil War were taken from the 1912 edition of Benson J. Lossing's History of the Civil War, published by the War Memorial Association. The scenes include: Thomas at Chickamauga. September 20, 1863; McClellan at Antietam. September 17, 1862; Kearsage Sinking the Alabama. June 19, 1864; Farragut on the Hartford in Mobile Bay. August 5, 1864; Hooker at Chancellorsville. May 3, 1863; Sheridan's Final Charge at Winchester. September 19, 1864; and the Battle of Spottsylvania. May 8 to 21, 1864. Each image measures about 9.5" by 7.25" (with varying border sizes). In fair to good condition. The prints still have bright colors but some of the borders have water damage, small tears and rubbed edges.
