This is a whimsical, yet sacred, Handcrafted Tin Marriage Milagro, depicting a man and a woman kneeling towards one another and holding a simple large metal cross. A milagro, meaning "little miracle," is used to petition Christ, the Virgin Mary, or one of the saints for guidance, help, and/or protection; or to give thanks for prayers answered. They are pinned to altars or statues. This milagro would be used to ask for help in bringing about a marriage or in helping a troubled marriage. The milagro measures 1.75" high by 1.25" wide and has the details of the faces, hair and clothing scratched into the surface of the tin. There is a hole for pinning the milagro in the head of the man. The cross has been soldered on to the hands, where the separate man and woman pieces have been joined. Maker, country of origin and age are unknown. This Handcrafted Tin Marriage Milagro is in very good condition with imperfections typical of this type of work.
