This is a beautifully handcrafted Clare-Bell Brass Crib. Made from solid brass, the 1/12th scale crib measures 4.5" long by 2.75" wide by 3.5" tall. It has decorative spindles (nine along each side and five at each end), four knobbed corner posts, and two bottom brass slats which hold the original blue and white striped ticking mattress. All of these brass pieces have been carefully riveted together to make a strong, durable crib. One of the bottom slats is stamped on the left side with "Clare Bell Brass Works Southington, Conn. 06489 and hand etched on the right side with "SER. #22 '76." As Clare-bell Brass Works was started in 1975, this 1976 crib is an early piece. The Clare-Bell Brass Crib is in very good condition with no signs of damage or wear. The brass surface has tarnished over 40 years, but this could easily be polished if so desired.
