This item consists of 2 Pairs of American Optical Eyeglasses with Leather Case. The bottom pair with full wire trim has glass bifocal lenses which measure 1.625" high by 1.75" wide. The rims, 0.875" bridge and 4.5" flexible ear wires are 12 karat gold-filled stamped with a simple geometric design. There are yellowed ivory-colored, ovoid-shaped Bakelite pads. The inside of each ear wire is marked "AO 1/10 12 K.G.F." which are the marks for American Optical Eyeglasses and 12 karat gold-filled. The bridge is marked "Ful-Vue AO 1/1012 K.G.F." This pair of glasses is well worn with scratches on the lenses, missing coating on the ends of the ears wires, and loose ear wires, one of which has lost its screw and has been repaired with a snipped pin. The top pair has wire trim along the arched tops of the hexagonal glass lenses with measure 1.5" high by 1.625" wide. The rims, 0.75" bridge and 4.5" ear wires with ivory coating at the ends are 12 karat gold-filled with detailed openwork and sunburst designs. The insides of one ear wire and the bridge are marked "AO 1/10 12 K.G.F." There are yellowed ivory-colored, ovoid-shaped Bakelite pads. This pair of glasses is in Very Good condition with no damage and little wear. There is also a burgundy hard leather snap case embossed in gold with "Dr. Ray Shepherd Optometrist Marshall, Texas." It has a triangular metal piece inside to hold the glasses in place. The case is in better than Good condition with some wear to the lining inside.
