This is a 1968 Festivals of India Booklet, reprinted and revised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. The 25 page booklet contains an introduction, which explains the various religions of India; a section on festivals that are celebrated throughout all of India (such as Shivarati, Vaisakhi, and Independence Day); a section on festivals celebrated regionally (such as in Kashmir, Punjab, Delhi and Bengal); and a two-page listing of the Dates, Festivals, and Places of Celebration. The 9.5" high by 7" wide booklet is filled with images: 8 illustrations of religious gods and goddesses; 7 black and white woodcuts of celebration figures; 17 black and white photographs and 8 color photographs of festivals, parades and religious buildings. This 1968 Festivals of India Booklet is in Very Good condition. Pages are clean and unmarked. The top right hand corner is creased, which is most visible on the front cover.
