This is a 1950 Ohio Art Company Lithographed Tin Spinning Top with a Mexican motif. The colorful illustrations (in bright yellow, blue, green, orange, black and white) show a running girl in a floral skirt holding a cactus; the same girl with a flower in her hair holding a sombrero; a boy in a yellow serape wearing a sombrero and tugging a seated burro with a yellow saddle; and the same boy, hatless, being pulled by the running burro. There is a toothed border in yellow on the bottom edge and a white on blue toothed border along the seam. A twisted metal rod with a red wooden handle emerges from a blue metal base. The stepped bottom is red with a blue center. The top measures 7.25" in diameter and 7.75" in height. There is an Ohio Art Company mark to the left of the girl's sombrero. This 1950 Ohio Art Company Lithographed Tin Spinning Top is in Good working condition. It does have some small dents, scratches, staining, and minor surface rust on the base.
