These are the 1945 Embossed Book Covers from The American Educator Encyclopedia, published by The United Educators, Inc. of Chicago. Measuring 9.625" high by 6.5" wide, each cover is made from a faux burgundy leather and embossed with a design. The front cover has a central encircled cross with interior spirals and spiral and fleur de lis points against a dotted diamond background; corner circles intersected by thin lines; and a swirling leaf and multi line border. The effect is like the cover of a medieval book. The back cover is embossed as if it were wrinkled paper or leather. The interiors of the covers in shades of brown show scientific charts of "Frequencies of Electromagnetic Waves in Kilocycles per Second" with wave illustrations and "Dimensions of Natural Objects in Miles" with astronomical illustrations of planets and stars. The spine is missing. These 1945 Embossed Book Covers from The American Educator Encyclopedia are in Very Good condition with some corner and edge wear. Ideal for use in art.
