These are five 1936 Prints by James McCracken from Lorraine and the Little People of Summer by Elizabeth Gordon, a story filled with teeny fairy friends who make Lorraine's journey into her garden quite memorable. James McCracken was a successful painter and illustrator who kept studios and exhibited in New York and Miami. His best known for his pastoral landscapes and tropical scenes, as well as for his illustrations for national magazines, railroad posters and children's books. Measuring 6.5" high by 4.5" wide, each of these full page illustrations shows little girl Lorraine meeting different fairies (Queen o' Sleep, Master Colorist, Queen o' the Weed People, and little Zephyrs) in her garden and house. The black and white line drawings are filled with details and completed in a rich color palette, printed on medium weight off-white paper. James McCracken's name appears in a box at the bottom of each illustration. These 1936 Prints by James McCracken from Lorraine and the Little People of Summer are in Good condition. There is slight discoloration and/or minor staining along the edges.
