This item consists of five 1906 Color Prints from Mrs Beetons Cookery Book, published by Ward, Lock & Co. Isabella Mary Beeton (1836-1865), also known as Mrs. Beeton, was an English journalist, editor and writer, whose name was associated with guides for household management and cooking. Each of these prints (Entrees, Fish, Poultry and Game, Joints, and Vegetables) shows eight or ten items whose bright colors were produced by chromolithography. All of the dishes are presented on silver platters, cake stands or bowls with decorative embellishments such as feathers, ribbons or finials. Many of the poultry still have their legs and feet attached and the Joints print includes a Calf's Head. Each print measures 7.25" high by 4.6875" wide and has been printed on medium weight stock which has yellowed over time. These 1906 Color Prints from Mrs. Beetons Cookery Book are in very good condition. The Fish Print does have some discoloration on back, where an acidic paper must have been inserted. Wonderful prints for framing or for art projects.
