This item consists of three 1880s Metal Locks. All three locks have the same design: a tongue-shaped base, an L-shaped keyhole, and a simple lock mechanism with a rectangular bolt on the flat side. Each measures 2" high by 2.25" wide by 0.375" thick and has a patent date and reissue date (from 1881 to 1889) stamped on the front. The locks are made from a deep gray metal with gold-tone coated backs. There is one hole for attachment. Maker is unknown. These 1880s Metal Locks are in good condition, particularly given their age. Each has a crack along one seam and some minor surface rust. There are no keys. Ideal for assemblage or other art project.
