This 1869 Chromolithograph of The Ladies of the Tournament is from Thomas Wright's Womankind in Western Europe (from earliest times to the seventeenth century), published by Groombridge and Sons, London. This print, measuring about 6.25" high by 8.25" wide, depicts thirteen women and one child in medieval dress seated in a tournament viewing box surrounded by pink curtains. The illustration has both pastel and saturated colors with accents of white, black and gold. There is a thin rose line border and the printed signature "H Briscoe del." "The Ladies of the Tournament." is written in thin black block letters on a cream-colored outer border. This 1869 Chromolithograph of The Ladies of the Tournament is in very good condition with no damage, fading or wear.
