This 19th century tintype (2" by 1.5") shows the head and shoulders of a young woman in a plaid dress. She has elaborately curled hair with a comb, a velvet choker with a small pin, dangle earrings, and a lace trimmed white collar with a large pin. She stares straight at the camera without smiling. Her cheeks have been faintly hand tinted pink. The sepia-toned photograph has been cut into an octagonal shape and sealed into a simple embossed off-white mat (about 3.75" by 2.5"). Both the tintype and the mat are in very good condition.
