This 19th century tintype (4" by 2.5") shows a full length portrait of two seated men wearing hats and touching arms. Each man is dressed in a three-piece suit with fancy neckwear. Their cheeks have been hand tinted pink. The man at left looks into the distance, while the man at right stares into the camera. This is the type of portrait described in the book Dear Friends: American Portraits of Men Together. The tintype is in a pale orange and red detailed mat with pale purple paper backing. In good condition, although the emulsion seems to be dirty.
