This 19th century tintype shows a seated man in what has been set up to look like the corner of a room with a painting hung high. The man is in a three quarter length post with his hands folded in his lap. He has a severe part in his short hair and he is wearing what appears to be a wool suit with the jacket buttoned at the top. He stares, unsmiling, away from the camera. The photograph measures 3.5" by 2.5" and has been sepia-toned. There are several linear dents at the top but the back is clean and the emulsion is in very good condition.
