  • 1880's Prints (The Queen of Hearts)

There is only 1 item left in stock.

This 1880's version of the nursery rhyme, "The Queen of Hearts," was illustrated by R. Caldecott and taken from his book, Collection of Pictures and Songs, published in London by Frederick Warne and Co.  There are 15 pages with 8 full page illustrations in color and 20 pages of line drawings in brown ink.  They have been printed on medium weight off-white matte paper and colored in soft red, yellow, blue, green, and brown.  The king, queen, and knave have been drawn to look very much like those figures found on a traditional deck of cards.  The pages measure about 8.875" high by 7.5" wide (color image size: 7.75" high by 6.75" wide) with two of the color pages having significantly trimmed borders (which does not affect the illustrations).  In generally good condition with light staining and small edge tears on some pages.  Ideal for use in an art project.
