This boxwood bead was inspired by an antique Japanese ojime, a sliding bead found on the cord of an inro box. It was hand carved by a contemporary Chinese Master-Carver. The bead shows a pig with an open mouth climbing on top of what appears to be a filled sack with a decorative diamond closure. The pig stands 2" high by 1.5" wide by .75" deep. The two holes for the cord are on his back end and upper right thigh. The carver has signed his name on the underside of the sack. Never used; like new.
