This is the 1993 hard cover edition of Gilbert and George The Singing Sculpture by Carter Ratcliff with an introduction by art historian Robert Rosenblum.  The book looks at the duos multiple performances of The Singing Sculpture, a work in which they appeared on a table with metallic faces and ill-fitting suits and executed automaton-like movements as a casette player repeatedly played "Underneath the Arches," a Depression-era song about two drifters who 'dream our dreams away.'  The text also focuses on the changing layers of its meaning over two decades.  Gilbert and George The Singing Sculpture is in very good condition with minor edge wear to the dust jacket.
