This item consists of four mid-19th century sepia-toned cartes de visite (Victorian visiting cards). Each card (4.25" by 2.5") is a close-up studio portrait of a young woman. They are all dressed in their Sunday best clothes with fancy jewelry and hairstyles. Each unsmiling young woman looks away from the camera in a three-quarter or profile position. The cards are marked: Worden; F.W. Alderige; Androscoggin Photographic Rooms (Lewiston, Me.)l and J.B. Davidson (New Britain, Ct.) All are in good condition with minor spotting and fading.
