These are the 1880 Book Covers from Pretty Peggy and Other Ballads, written and illustrated by Rosina Emmet and published in New York by Dodd, Mead, & Co. Rosina Emmet Sherwood (1854-1948), a member of a prominent New York family, is known for her genre, child portrait and interior scene paintings in pastels, oils, and watercolor. The interiors are a beautiful gray-teal paper (one with the inscription "Edith E. Young" in pencil). Each cover measures 9.5" high by 7" wide and has the paper illustration glued on to heavy board. These 1880 Book Covers from Pretty Peggy and Other Ballads are in good condition with some edge wear and no spine. Ideal for art projects.
