This item consists of 126 Mah Jong counters from the 1920's to the 1940's . The counters, hand-carved probably from ox bone, come from at least six different sets. They vary in length (from about 2.25" to 3.25"), in style (round ends or squared ends), dot colors (red or black) and numbers, and quality of workmanship (from symmetrical to unevenly carved). Some may have a hole drilled into one end. All have been used but are in good condition with no broken counters. However, some have dye that has bled around the incised dots.
